TDR Has a New Commenting Option – Subscribe by Email

This is just a brief note to let my readers know that I have added a new commenting option to this blog. In addition to leaving a comment on a post, you now have the option of checking a box and getting email notifications when new comments are left on that post.

I got a request for this today from Juli Monroe. She blogs over at TeleRead, and I finally had a chance to meet her today. While we were chatting she happened to mention that she wished she could get email notices when new comments are posted to the blog.

This was a feature I had never considered, but I am always willing to consider requests (especially when they don’t involve any work on my part).

      Yes I do.

Excellent. This is great for me personally. Often I do my catch-up reading first thing in the morning, and traipse around the various blogs I like. Sometimes I comment here and there, but it’s tough to keep track of what you said where without a comment sub feature. Often that means that I’ll not respond to someone’s comment directed at me, or do so too late. This is really handy.

I’d be curious to see if you notice an uptick in comments with this feature enabled (and perhaps an uptick in views if not visitors).

I too am expecting to see an uptick in comments and traffic.
