Macmillan Expands Library eBook Offerings With Titles From Entangled Publishing

entangled_logo_3[1]Macmillan and Entangled Publishing announced earlier this week that they are expanding their ebook distribution deal. The 2 publishers have been bosom buddies ever since striking an ebook distribution agreement earlier this year, and now they are growing even closer.

Under this new deal all of Entangled’s frontlist and backlist titles will be made available via the Macmillan Publisher’s e-Lending program. The ebooks, which number over 158 titles at last count, will be offered under the same terrible license as the ones that Macmillan offers (2 years or 52 checkouts), though I am told that Entangled titles won’t be priced as high as the $25 per copy that Macmillan charges.

Macmillan finally got into library ebooks earlier this year with a limited pilot program which offered 1,200 baclist titles from Minotaur, one of Macmillan’s imprints.  Those ebooks are available via OverDrive and the lesser 2 library ebook services, 3M Cloud Library and Axis360. There’s no information yet on whether these titles will be distributed via Ingram’s MyiLibrary.

At the moment Entangled releases approximately 20 to 25 titles per month in a digital first format, and 4 per month in simultaneous print and ebook formats. Their print distribution is handled St. Martin’s Press under a joint imprint.
