NewEgg to Sell the iView SupraPad i700QW Windows 8 Tablet for $59

Bottom of the barrel Windows 8 tablets have been getting cheaper as we get close to Christmas, first crossing the $100 barrier and now reaching $60 (maybe).

A reader has tipped me to a sale Newegg is going to be having later today. I haven’t been able to confirm it, but I’m told that the retailer will be marking down a cheap Windows 8 tablet. The iView SupraPad i700QW is listed right now for $79, but later today it is supposed to be selling for $59.

And yes, that is as cheap as it sounds.

The iView SupraPad i700QW is one of the many generic 1GB/16GB tablets which meet Microsoft’s minimum standards to run Windows. It has a 7″ display with a screen resolution of 1024 x 600, a pair of cameras (2MP and VGA), a pair of speakers, and a lot of duct tape to hold it together. It ruins Windows 8.1 on a quad-core 1.3GHz Intel BayTrail Z3735GCPU.

All in all those are not bad specs, and f this were an Android tablet I would be jumping up and down and telling you to get it. But with Windows, well, I’m not so sure. This is a desktop OS crammed into minimalist hardware, so performance will be lacking.

But so long as you go into this while keeping the limitations in mind, I don’t see a reason not to buy this tablet.

Thanks, Thomas!

Freudian slip?
" It ruins Windows 8.1 on a quad-core 1.3GHz Intel BayTrail Z3735GCPU."

That was originally a typo, but I left it in because I think it is a good description.

been watching it all day, not seeing that price.
I’m swimming in decent low priced android tablets, but if this had HDMI, I’d buy it and leave it hooked to the TV. But HDMI seems to be missing, so I’ll wait. Should be able to get a good windows tablet under $75 pretty darn soon, with HDMI and maybe even 8″

The sale is one of Newegg’s "Shell Shocker" deals, and will run from 1PM to 3PM Pacific time. Here’s the link:

I’ve heard both good and bad things about iView tablets. I don’t think their quality control is very good, and reported battery life varies widely.

not a lot of reviews, but all say 1-3 hours battery life, so plan on about 1 hour. pretty much not usable as a tablet, but not bad if you leave it plugged it and use miracast to send video to a tv. assuming miracast works worth a crap, which is a BIG assumption.

If you want HDMI Jim, a Raspberry pi with XBMC installed will be a cheaper alternative.

Where can I sell my SupraPad tablet? I find it very hard to use & read. It is basically brand new. The only thing that I could put on there was games.
