Infographic: Banned BooksThroughout the Ages

forbiddenprint[1]Who’s up for a banned book infographic?

As the following infographic shows, books have been banned at different times for a whole host of reasons, including some which make no sense.

While it’s obvious why Rushdie’s The Satanic Verses is still banned in 26 countries, it’s not so understandable why Green Eggs and Ham was banned in China. And when it comes Animal Farm, it’s easy to see why corrupt regimes and communist governments would ban what was clearly intended as criticism.

I, on the other hand, love it when a book is banned, or when there’s an outcry over a work, because I take the fuss as a sign that the book is worth reading.

Is there a banned book on this list which you can recommend as a must read?
