Google Drive for Linux Revealed in Leaked Screenshots

Google has been promising to release a Linux client for its cloud storage service since it launched 3 years ago and it may finally be about to arrive.

New screenshots turned up last week in the OSX client which hint at a Linux version. While there’s nothing in the documentation to suggest that conclusion, I have to agree with my source when he points out that the following screenshot looks more Linux than OSX:

Google hasn’t made an announcement on the screenshots yet, but I am sure that Linux geeks are eagerly anticipating the launch. While there are a few unofficial Google Drive clients for Linux, including griveInsync, and others, the closest we have to an official release is a command line tool called "drive".

That tool lacks even the basics like background sync, so it’s really not good for much – not compared to the Google Drive clients for Windows, Android, OSX, and Chrome.
