Amazon Publishing to Hold "Kindle Light Dinner" in Berlin

kindle-light-dinner If you should happen to be in Berlin early next month then you might want to check out the dinner party Amazon is holding on 4 May.

e-Book-News.de got their hands on an invite for the event, and they report that Amazon will hosting four US and German authors.

Best selling US author Connie Brockway will be joined by Katja Piel (Schwanenzauber), Ina Straubing (Die Liebe ist ein Trampeltier), and Stefanie Ross (Nemesis – Verkaufte Unschuld) will be in attendance. The authors in question have written in a number of genres ranging from romance to thriller (exception: Straubing, whose book has no listed genre). They have little in common aside from the fact that they all, not so coincidentally, are published by Amazon.

It’s not clear from this side of the pond just what Amazon is planning for the event; are they trying to recruit authors either into AmPub or the ranks of the self-published? Is this a contribution to Berlin’s literary culture?

It’s not clear, and I don’t have any contacts with Amazon Publishing Europe who could elaborate.

If you have more details, please let me know. Otherwise I think we’ll have to wait and read first-hand reports from the event itself before we know for sure.
