Kent Displays Intros Two New Writing Slates at CES 2016

The Boogie Board is a writing slate with a one-of-a-kind screen that you can writing on with a stylus – no ink or electricity required. The screen will hold your scribbles until you hit the reset button (some models will even save a copy of the scribbles when you clear the screen).

This week at CES, Kent Displays is showing off a couple new models.

First up is the Boogie Board Jot 4.5.

The Jot 4.5 features a translucent screen which is just the right size for to be put over a flash card or another piece of paper so kids can practice their writing.

It’s not the first translucent Boogie Board, or the first one with a 4.5″ screen, but it is the first to combine both in a single product. It’s going to ship later this year and cost $20.

The other new model shown off at CES is the Boogie Board Scribble and Play.

The Scribble and Play is the first Boogie Board to have a color screen (all the previous models have a monochrome screen). It’s not clear whether you will be able to choose the color you draw on the screen or if  it simply has a rainbow of colors, but if this is the same pressure sensitive tech used in other Boogie Board models then it will be the latter.

The Scribble and Play will come with that stylus and ship in July 2016 with a price tag of $30.
