The Kindle (2016) is Now Buy One, Get One Half Off On Amazon.com

The Kindle (2016) is Now Buy One, Get One Half Off On Amazon.com e-Reading Hardware Kindle If you're still in the market for a new ereader, Amazon is holding a belated back-to-school sale on the basic Kindle.

Buy two Kindles on Amazon.com, enter the code TWOPACK40 at checkout, and Amazon will take $40 off the order. For the ad-subsidized model this is basically a buy one get one half off sale, although the ad-free model costs $20 more.

Speaking of which, if  you do go for this deal and you want the white Kindle, you'll need to either pay extra for the ad-free unit or wait a month. While the black model is in stock, the white option for the Kindle is back-ordered until 18 October.

The white color really makes it stand out how cheap the plastic body is. It feels like you’re holding a dollar store children’s toy instead of a nice ereader. I was excited at one point too for a white Kindle. But not even talking about perceived contrast, it’s really not worth it.

The black basic Kindle is great. You need to use Bookerly to not see aliasing on the fonts, but other than that it is a solid ereader. If anyone reading this is thinking of taking advantage of this sale, don’t wait on the white Kindle. Order the black. You will be happier in the long run. This white Kindle is really overhyped.

You can even just buy a skin from DecalGal and have a white kindle, it’s just that easy.
