The Fire HD 6 is On Sale

Fire-HD-6-Horizontal[1]Amazon is running one of its perennial sales on Fire tablets right now.

Head on over to, add the Fire HD 6 to your cart, and then enter the code FIREHD6.

That will knock $20 off the price of the Fire tablet, which means you’ll get the Fire HD6 with 8GB storage for $50, or the 16GB model for $70.

That’s not a bad deal.

That is a great deal, considering IMO it is a better quality screen than the bottom of the food chain $49 Kindle Fire.

FWIW, I’ve actually owned that device, the $49 Fire & the $89 Fire. The screen resolution on this one is a *little* better than the $89 but it has very little RAM and that kept causing problems, the screen was tiny, WiFi was awful and kept disconnected from the router located 18 inches away and battery-life was only about 3 – 4 hours for me. It also lacked expandable storage.

IMHO, if you’re looking for a cheap tablet, the $89 HD 8 2016 is the only device worth considering. It’s screen resolution is not quite as good as this HD 6 but it is perfectly acceptable and on all other measures it performs very, very well for the price. The cpu won’t let you play intensive games but for every day use the overall experience is really good.

The one device that you should NEVER consider is that $49 model because it is terrible in just about every way. If you’re considering it based upon price, wait for the HD 8 to go on sale.

Incidentally, the $49 Fire will be on sale for $33.33 on Thanksgivng at Best Buy, and presumable also on Amazon.
