B&N EDU to Hold Publisher Open House at Case Western Reserve University

If you happen to be in or near Cleveland next week, and would like to directly challenge textbook on their pricing shenanigans, then this might interest you:

The Barnes and Noble University Bookstore will sponsor a publisher fair Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center Senior Classroom.

Representatives from Cengage, Pearson and MacMillan Publishing Services will be available to answer questions about textbooks, covering adoptions, desk copies and interactive materials.

Bookstore representatives also will be available to answer questions about regalia and supplies.

Giveaways and refreshments will be offered.

What would you say to the publishers about your textbook boosts (or your dependent’s costs)?

Me, I would ask how they could sleep at night, knowing that the ever increasing cost of textbooks was making education unaffordable. I would also ask how their cousin, the troll under the bridge, was getting along.

Then again, I have never been fond of textbook publishers.

What ould you like to know?
