Amazon Prime Reading Launches in the UK

Amazon launched Prime Reading in the UK on Thursday.

Launched in the US last October, Amazon Prime Reading gives Amazon Prime members access to a small catalog of novels, audiobooks, magazines, Kindle Singles, and digital comics. (The service is expected to launch soon in Germany.)

The service is bundled into the monthly or annual fee Prime members pay, and publishers and authors who agree to add their books to Prime Reading are paid a flat fee.

In the UK, the cost is  £79.

“Amazon Prime just got even better with the addition of Prime Reading,  giving customers unlimited access to over a thousand books, including  bestsellers like Harry Potter and the  Philosopher’s Stone, magazines, and comics for no additional cost,” said  Alessio Santarelli, EU Kindle Content Director, Amazon.

Titles highlighted in the Prime Reading launch offering include Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Enigma, business guides such as How To Be A Productivity Ninja, the Man Booker Prize shortlisted The Fishermen by Chigozie Obioma, and various short works.
