Pronoun Now Distributes eBooks to Libraries

Macmillan-owned ebook distributor Pronoun announced today that it was now distributing ebooks to OverDrive and Biblioteca (formerly 3M Cloud Library).

Pronoun offers a free distribution service that pays 100% of royalties to publishers and authors and includes a free ISBN and free formatting.

Press release:

Pronoun today announced the addition of library distributors OverDrive and Bibliotheca to its retail distribution, which includes Amazon Kindle, Kobo, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble Nook, and Google Play.

Authors are now able to add OverDrive and Bibliotheca as distributors when publishing on Pronoun, adding their ebook to catalogs from which over 20,000 libraries can purchase for circulation.

Library distribution expands Pronoun’s already easy-to-use self-publishing platform including free ebook conversion, Author Pages, book tracking, data-powered marketing tools, and one-stop distribution across all major ebook retailers.  Authors can set their own price for books distributed in library catalogs and can earn 70% royalties.

“The library system enjoys the membership of millions of digitally-savvy readers who are increasingly discovering their next favorite author in these channels.” says Pronoun President Joshua Brody. “We’re excited to extend this new reach to our authors at Pronoun.”

OverDrive and Bibliotheca are two of the largest distributors of ebooks to libraries in the US. Making indie books available to these catalogs means librarians can purchase any Pronoun ebook for their collection. Library distribution is a great way for authors to reach more readers and build their brand.

“Having my books available in libraries has always been a priority, but finding a way to get them there as a self-published author hasn’t always been easy—until now.” says New York Times bestselling author Vivian Arend. “With Pronoun it’s literally a click to add them on, and I love that I can set a separate price just for libraries.“
