Amazon Launched a Kindle Sale for its Anniversary

It may be hard to believe, but the tenth anniversary of the Kindle is coming up next month on the 19th. Amazon is marking the occasion the same way they celebrate every milestone: they are holding a sale.

Amazon has knocked $30 off the price of the Kindle, Kindle Voyage, and the Kindle Paperwhite. This brings the price of the basic Kindle to under $50.

The sale runs through 25 October.

“I’ve been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It’s a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog.”

  1. Amazing when you consider that first clunky Kindle cost $459. I got mine for $409 thanks to a special offer from Oprah Winfrey.

  2. thank for the “sale” Amazon, but i’d much rather enjoy a Paperwhite 4 or a Voyage 2! hahah #anniversaryfail
