I saw Kondo on some morning TV show yesterday while in a waiting room. She has people "thank" an object before discarding it. They were doing clothes. Eh. It’s possible to do print books too if you replace them with e. AFAIK, she’s all about physical clutter, not digital.

I read The Magical Art of Tidying Up when I moved to England with half my stuff and it was still too much for the smaller home (I was pre-warned about home sizes).

Changed my life.

I’m not into thanking articles, but the point is recognizing whether or not things are really serving a purpose and can you live life (even a better one) without it.

I sum her book up in three words: throw stuff away.

Most of the things lying around your home you really don’t see (or maybe even use) if you’re not interacting with it on a regular basis.

Every time I entered my home, I felt emotionally uplifted because everything was in its place, and I had zero clutter. Your mind isn’t drawn to a zillion things lying everywhere or sticking out of places. You can breathe, relax, and focus.

I recommend the book–but don’t throw it away after you’re finished with it. 😉
