StreetLib Releases eBook App for iOS, Android, and the Web

This ebook distributor Streetlib has released a new reading app for Android, iOS, and web browsers.

We are proud to introduce our latest app: StreetLib Read. Simple to use, cloud based and compatible with any?—?DRM free?—?eBook file, StreetLib Read makes it easy to enjoy, share and discover your favorite books. And thanks to your centralized StreetLib account, you can access all your books from any device and can continue reading wherever you left off.

Given that the book is at the heart of our mission, we really cannot afford to leave authors and readers behind. They are inherent to the book’s existence itself. Yes, readers too: a book isn’t wholly born until someone has read it. Of course, that someone might just be the author, but that makes them a reader too.

Available on iOS, Android and any web browser, StreetLib Read allows you to easily and comfortably read all your eBooks. Upload ePubs and buy new ones from StreetLib Stores and they’ll all be neatly organized in your own personal library. And if you log in with your StreetLib account, any previously purchased books will be automatically available without you lifting a finger!

The app supports Epub, Kindle, and Epub3, and you can find it in Google Play, iTunes, and on the Streetlib website.

I tried the Android version; it is a very simple app with no formatting options and a very frustrating annotations menu. I doubt I will open this app a second time, but you should try it and see if it works for you.

Cannot say for Kobo, and may be I (as a foreigner) misinterpret the expression "to throw in a towel" as "to give up", but Amazon has a Webreader, the Cloudreader, I just tested that on Amazon.de and Amazon.Com and it is still working.
When I look for a Kindle book I already own, there is no orange "Buy"-button, but a green "Read Now"-button

whoops, thank you for pointing that out

why did I think Amazon had gotten out?

>easily and comfortably read all your eBooks.
That’s not really correct. Play Book’s web reader is much better. Heck, even PocketBook’s beta web reader better than StreetLib one. As for mobile app – StreetLib’s Android app doesn’t work correctly for me because book is way off center not only on my test books but even on their own books (like Christmas Carol).
It’s much better to use Play Books or Bookmate (it’s usable as reader, you don’t have to pay to their subscription if you don’t need access to their collection) or even PocketBook’s.

Hi Vikarti Anatra! I’m AC from StreetLib. Thanks for pointing out this Android issue. We aren’t getting this bug from our devices, would you mind sharing your device model and Android version, so we can fix this as soon as possible? Many thanks!

@Nate we are also taking note of your comment on annotation and will work on improving the user experience.

Please keep your feedback going (don’t hesitate to write to [email protected]), that’s how we grow and get our apps to be what users need.

Hi, AC de Fombelle,
I got this effect on Nexus 10 with Android 5.1.1
What I would like to see is syncing (android AND web) e-book reading with great annotation support

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll forward to our tech team. Syncing is already available if you create an account and annotation support is planned to be in our next update release 🙂
