JK Rowling’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is Coming Out as a Kindle in Motion eBook

Amazon's Kindle in Motion ebook format is about to get its second Harry Potter ebook.

On Thursday Amazon is going to re-release Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Illustrated edition as a Kindle in Motion ebook. The 160-page book will cost $10 and feature multiple animations of the fictional animals described in the book as well as an animated book cover.

The enhanced content can be viewed on Fire tablets and in the Kindle apps for iOS and Android. If you load this ebook on a Kindle all you will get is text.

Since launching the format in July 2016, Amazon has released a grand total of 29 Kindle in Motion ebooks including Hugh Howey's Wool and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Around half are priced at $2 to $3, and if you would like to try one, may I suggest Wool? It costs $1.20 right now.

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
