ABA Partners With Hummingbird to Support eBook Sales via IndieCommerce Platform

The national trade group for museum gift shops and airport news stands has partnered with ebook startup Hummingbird to add ebook sales to the ABA’s IndieCommerce platform.

ABA members, about half of which are also indie bookstores, now have an additional option to sell ebooks via their IndieCommerce site. The Hummingbird platform integrates with ABA’s IndieCommerce platform by automatically supplying a “Buy the ebook” button next to the “Buy the Book” button on the bookstore’s product pages.

“ABA is always interested in providing a selection of options for readers and book buyers to purchase digital titles from ABA member retailers,” said ABA CEO Oren Teicher. “We are pleased to have this new partnership with Hummingbird, which gives ABA members an additional choice for offering ebooks to their customers.”

The ABA also has similar partnerships with Libro.FM and Kobo, although those deals are closer to affiliate deals where the ABA member receives a commission on a sale, as opposed to selling the content itself.
