It’s probably too much to hope that they will update the iPad Mini line. My 4 is starting to show its age, and I would love a new iPad, but I love the Mini size and am concerned I won’t really get into the larger one.

“I am hoping for a mention of Apple Books, but that would be unlikely.”

Curious what makes you say that. Apple Books just got the refresh with iOS 12, and the iPad is actually fairly wonderful as a reading device; if the Oasis 2 didn’t exist I’d think my iPad was perfect for longform reading.

I’m hoping there will be some tie, and I’m further hoping that the reason it’s in NYC has something to do with publishing; that’s where all the corporate houses are. Maybe a post-DOJ settlement effort, with an announcement of reading subscriptions? Apple’s already trying to do that with both Apple News and Texture, from what I’ve heard, so it’s possible.

It’s also possible there will be no mention of reading or books at all.
