Here are a few stories to read this Monday morning.
- The operator of the ebook.bike pirate site is even more full of BS self-justifications than the Internet Archive.
- Where did these ten weird phrases come from?
- Tyler Cowen explores the similarities between authors and entrepreneurs.
- The NYTimes has scoured its archive for scathing reviews of books, most of which you’ve never heard of.
- Simon Doherty used books to wean himself off of social media.
I am trying to decide whether that “most of which you’ve never heard of” is humor. I don’t get it, but the alternative seems unlikely.
I’ve never heard of most of them.
Since the article starts with a “sometimes we don’t get it right”, then yeah they are making fun of themselves here.
The NY Times piece isn’t where the “never heard of” comes from.
