Kindle Voyage is On Sale at Woot – $129, New

Kindle Voyage is On Sale at Woot - $129, New e-Reading Hardware Kindle Reports of the Kindle Voyage's retirement have been greatly exaggerated.

Woot has the Kindle Voyage on sale today for $129 These are reportedly new units, and like the last batch sold on Woot these Kindles come with both Wifi and international 3G.

I have no clue why Amazon continues to sell the Voyage in small batches like this; do you suppose they could be measuring demand while thinking about launching a new Voyage?

Not sure why they do it but 129.99 for a new Voyage is a good deal. If you don’t need more storage or waterproofing it is vastly better than the Paperwhite…better lighting and screen clarity.

Amazon is not. Woot bought up excess inventory and is reselling it wholesale. That is their business model.

No I don’t. What are you Goodereader now?

Woot belongs to Amazon, and is selling a product that was made by Amazon and could only have been sourced from Amazon.

I can understand why that doesn’t make you curious, but for me it raises a lot of questions.

I think “international 3g” says it all. It’s excess inventory from overseas. I doubt there’s anything premeditated about it.

As I’ve mentioned before, I love my Voyage and have an extra from w00t already squirreled away with my prepper stash. 🙂

Speaking of premeditated, I wonder if much of that is in evidence lately. The two lower-end models step on each others feet, and if there’s anything that deserves the moniker ‘clumsy’ it would be the overpriced Oasis. It seemed to make sense to come out with another Voyage that has bluetooth for audible, but it’s possible they just sell mostly paperwhites, and why bother?

    No that is not correct.

“I can understand why that doesn’t make you curious, but for me it raises a lot of questions.”

The same reason that temporarily out of stock Kindles or temporary sales doesn’t make me jump to the conclusion that a new Kindle is inbound. It doesn’t logically follow.

You and the other two sites only jump on these non-news issues to speculate for the sake of clicks. It costs nothing to ask a leading question as long as you don’t assert any firm predictions.

It is transparent what you’re doing. You’re hopping on the Goodereader bandwagon that boldly announced that there will be a new Voyage this year. Maybe. Maybe not. What evidence do you have for this? A Woot sale on the Voyage like they’ve had for nearly every Kindle model in the past several months? Oh I forgot you’re not asserting anything. Just asking questions. Got it.
