Amazon Removes Category Strings From Book Listings

Did you notice there’s something missing from book listings?

Amazon is no longer listing parent categories in the sales rank section on book listings.  They have removed the long strings of category links and replaced them with just the child category:

That does look cleaner from a design viewpoint, and the new look is only slightly less useful to buyers – if you want to find a parent category, you can always click on one of the categories and work your way up.

What do you think of the new look? I for one liked the longer strings of categories; it often provided useful info on how a book was classified.

My book on Amazon that went missing when you mentioned that they had deleted titles is BACK! Have no idea why it was missing for nearly a week, but it is back and showing as available
