Walmart Launches Three Sub-$99 Tablets to Challenge the iPad

There are an awful lot of cheap and terrible Android tablets on the market, and now thatnks to Walmart there are three more. On Monday Walmart rolled out 3 Android tablets, all priced under $99, including an 8″ tablet and two 10.1″ tablets.

The 10.1″ tablets will cost $79 and $99, but I don’t know much about them other than the $99 comes with a detachable keyboard. There’s no info on the larger tablets on Walmart’s site, but it would appear that the 8″ tablet is available right now.

According to Walmart’s site, this tablet is sold under Walmart’s Onn brand and costs $64. It runs Android 9 on a quad-core 1.3GHz CPU with 2GB RAM. In terms of storage, this model has 16 GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot. This tablet is also equipped with Wifi, Bluetooth, and a pair of cameras (VGA and 2MP). It also appears to have a speaker on the back.

Screen resolution is 800 x 1280, and the specs say that the battery will last 5 hours.

All in all those aren’t bad specs for the price, but to be honest I am more interested in the $99 model. I have a thing for tablets with detachable keyboards, and I am really looking forward to reading about how that one performs.
