Apple iWatch Now Scheduled for a Launch in 2013 and 2014
New rumors are circulating today about Apple’s fabled iWatch, with Digitimes reporting that a trusted analyst
astrologer thinks the iWatch will not be launched until late 2014 with a price tag of $149:
Inventec is expected to land 60% of orders for an Apple iWatch, which is expected to release in the second half of 2014. The orders are estimated to contribute about 19% of Inventec’s profits in 2014, according to an analyst at CIMB Group.
The analyst expects Apple’s iWatch to be priced between US$149-229 and consumers will purchase the device mainly to replace their iPods.
The analyst pointed out that Apple’s iWatch shipments are estimated to reach 63.4 million units in 2014.
Curiously enough this rumor disagrees with several of the launch date, though it does agree with a few of the rumors about a late 2014 launch date. After having considered all of the rumors I have reached the conclusion that they are all true.about a late 2013
Apple is going to launch the iWatch no less than 6 times between now and the end of 2014.
That makes a lot of sense to me. After all, this is the jesusWatch that will save the Apple faithful from declining revenues. Why not launch the same device 6 times and make more money?
Seriously, folks, today’s rumor from Digitimes didn’t even pass the LOL test. I read it and it literally made me laugh out loud. Come on, a $149 iWatch? I don’t see how that would fit with Apple’s usual practice of charging a premium price for a premium product. I could see a $349 iWatch, but not one that costs under $150.
In any case, let me repeat my usual rule for Apple rumors. I’m going to decline to believe any rumors until I see actual hardware. Apple can’t help but leak like a sieve, and that guarantees that components for a real product will show up long before it is officially announced.
