Bol.com ebook sales tripled in 2010
The Dutch web retailer Bol.com announced today that 318 million euros worth of goods in 2010, an increase of 40 million euros. According to the press release, they sold 3 times as many ebooks in 2010 as they did in 2009.
I know that sounds impressive, but don’t get too excited. Bol.com only started selling ebooks in September 2009 . That’s only the last third of the year, so tripling ebook sales the following year isn’t that impressive.
TBH, I have to wonder if they meant that they are selling 3 times as many today as the did in 2009. That would be a decent increase, and worth announcing.
