Google launched a new URL shortener (& so did I)
I’m sure you’ve seen the goo.gl URL shortener around, right? This was a tool Google launched a few years back so everyone could shorten incredibly long website addresses into a dozen or so characters.
That shortener has been so successful that Google announced a second URL shortener today: g.co. This new shortener is just going to be used by Google. It’s going to be their way of shortening a URL and confirming that the link is safe because it belongs to them.
Since I’m on the topic of URL shorteners, I’d like to introduce you to my new shortener: www.ebookne.ws. You may have seen it around; I started using it this weekend and I also handed out the passcodes to a few people. Isn’t it cool?
If you want to use it, drop me an email. It’s for news use only, not personal use.
