Interview with E-ink at CES 2012 (video)
Charbax is a name that my regular readers should know. We trade stories, share sources, and post each others videos on a regular basis.
I posted about my own visit with Sriram Peruvemba, the marketing director at E-ink, a few days back. Today I thought it would be interesting to post Charbax’s interview. Here’s his 17 minute video.
Sri demonstrates some of the latest uses for E-ink such as a large screen demo unit with a 300dpi display, signage, the Jetbook Color, a fast new stylus input (250 milliseconds), new E Ink watches, and more.
If you’re interested in seeing other examples of products based on E-ink screens, check out the booth visit video I posted back in November. That video was shot at FPD 2011, and it shows all sorts of cool stuff.

Since the technology of color e-ink is similar to Bayer filter used in color blind CCD sensors, resolution of e-ink screen must be 3 times larger than resolution of ordinary E-ink screen, in translation, you need 500ppi resolution on color e-ink screen to have approximately same quality as mono e-ink.
How sharp do you find current color e-ink in comparison to Peral screen?

Nate… that Seiko/Epson 11.5″ device is new and very interesting. Definitely something worth following up on.

Do you know where I can find more info? The latest I can find is from 4 years ago.
