iOS Update 11.2.5 Lets Siri Read the News to You (if You Possess a HomePod)
The next version of iBooks (or Books, as it will be called) won’t be coming for another few months, but the current version of iOS does have one treat for readers.
9to5Mac reports that last week Apple released iOS 11.2.5. This is a relatively minor update
HomePod owners can have Siri read them the news through their smart speaker (the HomePod itself runs iOS). Or at least they will be able to do so when their unit arrives; the $349 HomePod launched at Apple’s conference in June 2017, but it doesn’t ship until next week.
According to the changelog, all you have to do is say, "Hey Siri, play the news". You can even request specific news categories such as sports, music, or business.
