LG, iriver to unveil new e-reader in China

L&I Electronics, a joint venture of iriver and LG Display, might be about to announce a new ebook reader some time soon. At least, that’s what 1 site is reporting, but I haven’t been able to find any corroborating sources.

Details are vague, but L&I are supposed to be planning to introduce this ereader as a product for the Chinese market. There’s no word on the launch date, specs, or price, but the new device has the "screen resolution increased by 63 percent" compared to devices currently on the market. That would suggest that this new ereader is using the screen found on the iriver Story HD. It’s also supposed to have Wifi, and that’s all I know at the moment.

There’s a good chance that this rumor is true. iriver in the past have released new ebook readers  in China first, and they could be repeating that pattern.
