Libri.de’s reading app now available in Germany
Micah Bowers, CEO of Bluefire, just tweeted about Bluefire’s first Android app. Their partner, the German ebookstore Libri.de, have expanded their ebook empire beyond selling ereader and ebooks to include an app.
As you can see from the screen shot, the Android app looks a lot like Bluefire’s iOS apps, and it has all the same features. It appears to be available for the German market only, and right now it’s only found in the Samsung App Store. The app supports Epub, PDF, and it can also read any DRM-free PDF or Epub as well as Epubs sold in most ebookstores (except iBooks). You cna even use this app to read ebooks from B&N.
The Libri.de ebookstore stocks 250 thousand titles in English, German, and English.
While this is good news for Libri customers, it’s also good news for the rest of us. Bluefire should have their unbranded version of the Android app out in the not too distant future, which means we’ll soon have a third Android app that supports all ebookstores (except Kindle, iBooks) and library ebooks.
