OLPC XO-1.75 Clears the FCC

Now this is an interesting turn of events.

The latest generation XO laptop showed up on the FCC website today. I’m a little surprised to see it there because this is the unit that was launched back in January at CES 2011. But according to the paperwork, the XO-1.75 got a new Wifi card so it had to be certified again.

I saw this device at CES on display in the Marvell booth.  OLPC was demoing the XO-1.75 in that booth because this was the new, upgraded model that swapped the x86 CPU found in the XO-1 with a 1GHz Marvell Armada CPU. It of course also had a completely redesigned motherboard, but externally I believe it looked the same as the original.

And no, I don’t own one.
