Oyster Apps Updated With New Layout, Recommendations
Oyster has rolled out new updates to its Android and iOS apps today which will help readers find their next book.
The new apps feature a redesigned home screen which offers up the ebooks a user is currently reading as well as recommended reading lists based on choices made by Oyster’s editorial team, a user’s reading history, and so on. The lists also include new releases, NYTimes best-sellers, and titles currently popular with Oyster readers.
Oyster also reports that they’re now suggesting ebooks based on the time of day and day of week "because what you want to read during a relaxing Sunday at home is probably very different than during the fifteen minutes on your commute". Those chronological suggestions could result in some unusual sounding recommendations, including "Sunday Night Short Stories" and "Books for after Dark".
You can find the apps inand iTunes. They’re free to download, and Oyster charges $10 a month for access to a catalog of 1,000,000 titles.
