Pottermore Launches Tablet Friendly Site – Does Anyone Know Where They Hid it?

Here’s apottermore_xperia_tablet_black_highres head-scratcher for you.

Pottermore announced on their blog earlier this week that the site was now compatible with tablets:

Being able to use on a tablet device has been a popular request by members of the Pottermore community, and for this reason, we’re excited to share the news that the entire website is now compatible with leading tablet devices!

Not only will the new interactive Moments be at your fingertips, but you’ll also be able to touch and tap to duel other wizards and brew magical potions (make sure you don’t get your fingertips too close to the flames!).

The problem with this news story is that I’m not seeing any difference between the site on my laptop and on my tablets. Furthermore, in its current state I would not in anyway describe it as mobile friendly. Yes, you can use the site from a tablet but you’re still using the regular website.

Am I missing something?

I believe that the previous website would not work with mobile devices at all. Looking at the house sorting bit, I can see/guess at a number of places where the previous version might have not worked for people with touchscreens.

Ah, so it used to be worse than it is now? That would explain it.

I should think if it now works the same on your tablet as on your laptop, then it’s working correctly.

It’s not right. If you click the link through an email I believe it gives you the mobile version. But if you type it in your browser either way, it will give you the regular site. The mobile version is definitely different looking than the regular site. On the regular site it says my email and password are wrong on my ipad2. The mobile version lets me in but isn’t always available. Work out the kinks!
