Google Not Paying Android Developers – No Solution in Sight
A few days Mike Cane tipped me to an ongoing problem on one of Google’s support forums. It seems that some 90 (or more) Android devs have noticed that Google neglected to process their payment for February, which should have arrived over a week ago.
Google pays developers their 70% cut t the beginning of the month, and according to the first poster the payment usually arrives by the 7th. Needless to say, it hasn’t arrived and everyone is getting pissed.
It looks like whatever Google did to launch Google Play last week may have broken some of the behind the scenes code. Developers from countries as diverse as Brazil, Norway, Spain, and Germany have chimed in with growing frustration. None have been paid, and none have gotten a response out of Google. A couple of the responses on the thread appear to be from Google reps, but they haven’t said when this will get fixed.
We’re aware of reports from some European developers that they have yet to receive their March 2012 payout for February sales. We’re actively investigating this and are working to resolve it as soon as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience. At this time, no action is needed on your part.
I’ve queried Google on this, and I will post their response when I get it. For now, developers will
P.S. You know, Amazon might take an extra month to get you your money but at least you know they will. Google, not so much.

Has Google have a history of not paying developers? It seems like payments being delayed by a week due to a major system change is unfortunate, but not sufficient to say that Google can’t be trusted to pay developers…

I think you need to see my post to understand just how badly Google has been screwing up — with customers too!

I’ve seen grade- school supply stores managed by 10 year old’s run smoother.
You may never have a problem with Google, but God help you if you do.

I’m still waiting for payment myself. I’ve had no luck in getting any kind of response from Google and my bills need paying. Some of us developers depend on this money as a livelihood and this non-payment is causing many of us great distress.
