Grammarly Launches New Keyboard App for Android that Automatically Corrects/Causes Your Typos
Grammarly has followed up its malfunctional Chrome browser extension with a couple keyboard apps for iOS and Android.
The iOS app was released last month, and today Grammarly released a matching Android app.
Hey Android users! Since launching the Grammarly Keyboard for iOS, we’ve heard from lots of you wondering when the app would be available on Android. Well, first, we want to thank you for your patience. And second, we’re pleased to tell you that today’s the day! The Grammarly Keyboard is now available on both iOS and Android.
Life happens on the go. By 2018, 50 percent of workplace communication and collaboration will happen through mobile apps. But typing on your phone is awkward and imprecise—we’ve all fallen victim to the dreaded textfail at one time or another.
I am an ex-Grammarly user, and the problem with Grammarly is that it isn’t very smart about basic things like conjugation or punctuation. In the four months I used the service, it was wrong more than it was right. The false positive rate was that I could almost use it to identify the places where I didn’t have errors.
The apps are free, but you would honestly be better off with the basic autocorrect, and trusting that people will overlook any mistakes (I do).
