It’s Official: Createspace to Stop Providing Publishing Services This Spring
Createspace is now telling authors the same thing I was the first to report you last week: The company will no longer provide editorial, formatting, design, and other services.
They sent an email yesterday to current clients, informing them of the upcoming change:
You recently completed a design service with our CreateSpace Services team. We’re emailing to inform you that we’ll no longer offer or fulfill any paid professional services, including text or design changes to your cover or interior files. If you want to make changes to your design files, those changes must be purchased and submitted no later than March 15, 2018, and completed by April 20, 2018. No changes can be made to these files after April 20, 2018.
This change does not impact the availability of published titles. Amazon remains committed to helping authors realize their goals through self-publishing high quality books. Visit CreateSpace or Kindle Direct Publishing to learn more about the tools and resources available to authors.
These services were not widely used, but Createspace did maintain a high standard. Several authors chimed in on last week’s story, describing Createspace’s service as expensive but prompt, thorough, and high quality.
