Treelogic Arcus 501 e-reader now available

Treelogic have unveiled another ebook reader in Russia today, and it's a familiar face.

The Arcus 501 is based on a 5" (800x480) LCD screen and it's running on a Rockchip 2729 CPU. It has 4GB Flash storage, microSD card slot, speaker, microphone,  FM Radio, but no Wifi or touchscreen. It promises broad audio, video, and ebook support. Retail is 2990 rubles (~$106 USD), and it's available now.

I recognize this device. Both the Rockchip CPU plus the button layout makes me think that this is a later incarnation of the Delstar Openbook. This hardware has shown up under a bunch of different brands, so I'm not surprised to see it again.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
