There is no real scientific explanation for this. The sayings about the cat’s alleged lives probably stem from the fact that cats often survive complicated accidents that usually kill humans.
Since time immemorial, people could not explain why cats amazingly often survive falls.
Only at the turn of the millennium could high-speed recordings explain this phenomenon. The tapes proved that cats instinctively turn in a fall to land on all four paws due to the so-called positioning reflex.
But also, the fact that cats creep and can see amazingly well at night with glowing eyes could be why they were once thought supernatural beings with multiple lives.

Since the Egyptian people believed that nine different deities created the earth, the number 9 was also apparent for the lives of the god-like creatures, in their opinion.
But also, the fact that nine stood for the universe according to the Celtic belief could be a reason.
