World Book Day 2010 targets adult readers

TheBookSeller reported:

Adult readers will be able to buy one paperback under £10 and get a second free to donate to charity or give as a gift as part of this year's World Book Day. Vouchers will be given away in the Times, Sunday Times, the Sun or News of the World between 4-7 March.

World Book Day said the initiative aimed to "remind adults about the joy of reading and pleasure of sharing a good book".

Victoria Barnsley, chair of World Book Day and HarperCollins c.e.o., said: "The Buy One Give One Free campaign means that World Book Day really offers something for everyone. Together with the well-established Children's campaign and Quick Reads, this squares the perfect circle, catering for book lovers and new readers alike.

World Book Day is scheduled for 4 March, and is the biggest annual celebration of books and reading in the UK and Ireland.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
