5 so-called iPad Killers

I just love it when someone in the MSM tries to write an article like this. They so often don't know what they're talking about.

Telegraph just posted an article on 5 iPad Killers. I snickered when I read this article because 2 of the Killers don't exist yet. Seriously, the top 2 probable iPad Killers are the MS Courier and the Google tablet. One is a not yet produced concept device, and the other is little more than a rumor.

What's even more amusing is that the PlasticLogic Que is listed as well. The Que costs a heck of a lot _more_ than the iPad and does _less_. Honestly, as soon as the iPad was announced I thought that the Que would be its first victim. And I'm not the only one who thinks that; I talked to a number of ereader developers who agree with me.

Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
