Copia E-readers Delayed until Fall

I briefly stopped by the Copia booth. Copia debuted their reading platform and ereaders at CES 2010. If you're not familiar with Copia, then think of them as reading meets social media. They had some really impressive demos back at CES, and the demo taday was even better (it worked). They didn't have any devices on display, sadly. For various reasons development has been delayed from the (overly optimistic) April to late Fall.

I do have some possibly good news. The Copia software is in a limited beta, so I suggested that Copia should include the MobileRead Book Club in the beta program. They thought it was a good idea. There's no real plan as of yet, but if you want to participate, please go join MR and keep an eye on the Book Club.

P.S. I'm not promising that MR Book Club will participate in the beta. I just hope this will happen.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."
