Pocketbook press conference

I was at the Pocketbook press conference a few minutes ago and they did not announce the Mirasol ereader. (dammit) But at least now I know that when they gave me the run around before it was becuase they weren't ready yet. They weren't stalling for today's event; they were stalling for some event in the future. Fine by me.

There really wasn't anything new mentioned at the press conference.

But speaking of Mirasol, look at the picture. The blond sitting second from the far right is Melinda Hutcheon, and she does PR for Mirasol Displays. She was at the press conference "just in case" someone in the press had a question about Mirasol partnership, even though they have not yet admitted that the partnership exists.

I hate it when people play coy.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader: "I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. Extremely disappointing, but then again, they never promised us anything.

  2. Buy her some drinks and get her drunk and then get the truth out of her!

  3. They better not promise a mirasol device and take care of the existing PB903. While the hardware is ok the firmware needs a lot of improvement before someone could recommend the 903.
