Unwired View and others are reporting that Apple stores will be opening an hour early today. Some stores have confirmed this, and some have even admitted to having gotten more iPad 2 in stock last night. This could be good news, considering that the iPad 2 sold out within minutes of its launch last Friday.
But if the iPads can be in store on Tuesday, then why weren't they there last week? I can't think of a reason other than Apple wanted to create a feeding frenzy.
My local Apple store will be one of the ones opening earlier than usual this morning, but I don't know that they will have the iPad 2 on hand. Actually, it's too far way to be called local, but at least I have direct confirmation of the story.
As for me, I'm planning to get an iPad 1. The new specs don't wow me all that much (I don't play games).
Update: Web orders for the iPad 2 now have ship dates of 4 to 5 weeks.
