Iriver Story HD updated – no change

My iriver Story HD decided it needed to update today. This one went a lot faster than the first update, and in fact it downloaded so quickly that I don't know how big the update file actually was.

I can't see any changes, so I guess that v1.19 was released just to fix a few minor bugs.

On a related note, the Story HD's last update is currently available from the iriver website. That one is 100MB, and I'm downloading it now to see if it has a changelog. BTW, there's  also a firmware for the non-Wifi Story HD. I'm not sure what it adds.

  1. Does your Story HD work on encrypted wireless networks?

Mine using v1.17 firmware does not. 🙁 It refuses to connect to a standard WPA2+AES home wireless network.

It also refuses to accept passphrases longer than 31 characters (the standard allows them to be 8-63 characters long).

    Open wifi networks work fine.
