First Look at Koobe’s New Mirasol eReader

It's been just 2 weeks since Qualcomm and the Taiwanese ebook seller Koobe announced the new Jin Yong Reader, and videos are already showing up online. This video was actually posted a couple days after the launch, but it only came up in a Google search yesterday. as you can see, the hardware looks identical to that of the Shanda Bambook Sunflower and the Kyobo eReader.

The reading app is different, but the screen  and overall response time looks to be the same as on the other models.

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. Eh. I never looked for videos of this or other Mirasol devices. After the Kyobo debacle, why bother? Any Pixel Qi action happening this week at the book wankery conference?

  2. It looks faster than usual e-ink or the quicker ebook reader launched until now: cybook odissey. Doesn’t it?
