Indie Author Day is on 14 October 2017

Indie Author Day is on 14 October 2017 Self-Pub Indie Author Day is a one-day international event for authors to collaborate with their local libraries.

Last year, nearly 10,000 authors and 300 libraries across the United States and Canada participated.

This year, Indie Author Day is going to be held on the 14th of October, and organizers are expecting at least a 50% increase, reaching a combined total of 450 libraries in the Uk, US, and Canada, with over 15,000 authors in attendance.

Libraries across North America will host local events, giving authors a chance to unite through library systems both physically and digitally, and an opportunity to meet, network, make friends, and form business partnerships.

Join the second international Indie Author Day, as libraries across the world host local events for their writing communities on October 14th, 2017. These events unite independent and self-published authors in their libraries to participate in author panels, book readings and signings, workshops, presentations and more. Participants will also have access to expert advice provided in workshop videos made by industry experts on everything from book design and distribution to drafting, editing and beyond. Visit the Indie Author Day website at to learn more and get involved!

Nate Hoffelder is the founder and editor of The Digital Reader:"I've been into reading ebooks since forever, but I only got my first ereader in July 2007. Everything quickly spiraled out of control from there. Before I started this blog in January 2010 I covered ebooks, ebook readers, and digital publishing for about 2 years as a part of MobileRead Forums. It's a great community, and being a member is a joy. But I thought I could make something out of how I covered the news for MobileRead, so I started this blog."

  1. I participated last year. The library did a GREAT job and allowed us to sell signed copies during the event. (Check with whatever library you partner with. A number of them allowed giveaways and/or display tables, but no sales.)
